The optimal functioning of the human central nervous system is directly related to the health of nerve cells. The optimal functioning of nerve cells, in turn, is directly related to the intensity of protein synthesis in these cells. Protein biosynthesis is the formation of new proteins in cells and thus the process of gene expression that is central to all living things and in which proteins are built from amino acids according to genetic information. This process is necessary for cells to grow and perform their most important functions. Proteins control all important functions in the body.
In a young organism, protein biosynthesis works very well. Accordingly, all organs and organ systems in a young organism also generally function well. During cellular protein metabolism, proteins are broken down into small fractions = peptides. These peptides regulate many cellular processes, including the cell cycle, gene expression (protein synthesis) or the response to oxidative stress.
In a young body with a normal intensity of protein synthesis, brain peptides (peptides of nervous tissue) are produced by the body itself in sufficient quantities. This means that they can only penetrate cells in the tissue from which they originally came. Brain peptides can only be absorbed by cells of the central nervous system.
